Tower Building Challenge

Yesterday B1 had to do a team challenge…                                                                                 We had to make the tallest, stable tower that holds a torch. We had to do it twice as the first day we did it nobody did it as they where all focused on doing the tallest tower. The next day everyone was focused on doing a tower that is stable and holds a torch. My teams wasn’t very high but we all worked as a team to make it… Thank you Yummy Scrummy Cakes for being such a good team!!!

Hamsters

Over the half term holiday, I have been helping my Uncle move down from Felixstowe to Newton Abbot. I was moving for 2 days. I left at 8:00 in the morning and arrived at 5:00 the next morning. I got a hamster from him called Sarah. Sarah is white with a ginger Bum and a Ginger head. Sarah never bites anyone. Sarah is a Syrian Hamster and she loves chewing her bars. Science is Cool!!!

Over the last term B1 have been doing a Harry Potter theme . This topic has been an amazing topic and I hope everyone else has too. One of my favourite things was that lots of people keep messing up with magic so B1 had to sort it out. I liked that instead of Miss Leaman explaining it all we got to put it all to the test. Everyone got the chance to try their method of doing it. Thank you Miss leaman for this amazing challenge and I hope children in the future get to do this!!!

Dobby’s Last Challenge

We had one last task from silly Dobby…

This time Dobby was going to be in a lot of trouble as he thought he was clever enough to use magic by him self. We told him not to but he did. Snape asked him to prepare his classroom for his next potions lesson but Dobby mixed all 7 items up. They where;  

• Basilisk blood ( Red water ) 
• Star Dust ( Iron fillings )
• Dragon Scales ( Sugar + Salt ) 
• Philosophers Stones ( Glass Pebbles )
• Trolls Toenails ( Pasta )
• We also had Beans and Sand!!!

It was really hard to help Dobby !!!

This task was really fun and I wish we could do lots more of these challenges!!!

Literacy

Today we have been doing play – scripts in literacy and each table have been having a laugh while trying to rehearse a scene from a play script . Some people performed their play yesterday but other people are performing today!!! I am really excited to do the play with my group ( Shannon, Amy and me ). We are doing it about a boy called William ( played by me ) who Amy  invents a robot ( Amy) and shows it to his friends ( Shannon ) .

Hagrid’s Challenges

Here is Hagrid’s Two team challenges;

1.) The first challenge is that Hagrid only has a small amount of magical water left for his unicorn but it’s dirty so we had to do many different experiments to find the best method and it was using filter paper in a funnel. The Team that had the cleanest water was Team Snape.

2.) Hagrid accidentally knocked a packet of Snapes Dragon Scales into magical so we have to remove the dragon scales somehow but the only thing is that the dragon scales are soluble so they are really hard to remove. Everyone in the class is trying evaporation but the challenge will be going for a while!!!
